Aporia Trilogy Part II
<새벽의 사람 Men of Dawn>(2021)은 운문과 독백으로 이루어진 글과 낭독-퍼포먼스가 복합적으로 합쳐진 프로젝트이다. 3부작 아포리아(2019-2023)의 2부로 제작 되었으며, 이 시리즈는 이상의 시와 산문들을 최초의 모티브로 공유하고 있으며, 난해와 역설, 부정과 전복을 발현하는 이상 시어의 전통을 이어가려는 시도를 담고있다. 1부 <한계의 사람 Men of Limits>(2019)의 기본적인 맥락을 유지하되 당시 영상이 운명에 적응하는 13인의 인간상을 제시하고 있다면, <새벽의 사람>은 주어진 상황 속에서 결정적 순간에 서로 다른 선택을 하는 2인의 초상을 그리고 있다. 2인은 불화하며 대척점에 놓인 듯 보이나, 결국 서로의 얼굴을 비추는 한 개인의 양면을 보여준다. 작가는 역설과 불안, 갈등의 환경 속에서 정당함을 정의하는 것의 어려움과 이에 따라 범인凡人이 앓는 번뇌를 분열적이고 과장된 텍스트로 구현하고자 한다.
<Men of Dawn>(2021) consists of a performance reading verses and a monologue. It is the second part of the Aporia Trilogy(2019-2023), whose initial motif stems from poems and prose by Yi Sang; the trilogy attempts to continue his poetic legacy by experimenting with incoherency, paradox, negation and subversion. While the first part, <Men of Limits>(2019), presents a portrait of thirteen people who adapt themselves to the given situation, <Men of Dawn> suggests two stances caught in a critical moment who make different choices. The relationship between these two figures is seemingly antipodal, yet they are both sides of one individual reflecting each other. Jung seeks to establish a text piece of schizoid and rhetoric expressions articulating the difficulty of defining justification in a circumstance of irony, anxiety and conflict and how their influence intensifies the agony an ordinary person experiences.
